Entry Visa and Student Visa for Foreign Students and Postdoctoral Fellows
Entry Visa While citizens of certain countries do not need to obtain an entry visa in advance, others need to do that. The Graduate School helps foreign students and postdoctoral fellows and their families (only husband, wife and children) with the formal arrangements of obtaining entry visas. The Ministry of Interior DOES NOT allow FGS to help with visas for a spouse (who is not officially married to the student / postdoctoral fellow), parents or siblings.
Student Visa Upon arrival, all foreign students and postdoctoral fellows must obtain a student visa. The Graduate School helps them and their families (only husband, wife and children) with the formal arrangements. The Ministry of Interior does not allow FGS to help with visas for parents or siblings. A student visa cannot be issued without confirmation of health insurance Click here for further details.
Extension of Student Visa The Graduate School helps with arrangements for visa extensions for foreign students and Postdoctoral Fellows and their families (only husband, wife and children).
Health Insurance for Foreign Students and Postdoctoral Fellows Foreign students and Postdoctoral Fellows are required, upon entering Israel, to present evidence of them and their families possessing health insurance. They must ensure that they have enough financial resources for initial expenses (including payment for health insurance), since a student visa cannot be issued without confirmation of health insurance and a fellowship cannot be paid without a student visa. In the case of any problem they should turn to the host scientist, before traveling to Israel.
