Limitations on Smoking in Public Places

General
The Restrictions on Smoking (Public Places) Law, 1983, determines a total prohibition on smoking in public places, as defined by the law.

Areas in which smoking is prohibited:
1. Laboratories
2. Workrooms
3. Libraries
4. Lecture halls
5. Corridors
6. Restaurants
7. Cafeterias

Exceptions
The law allows smoking in a room or hall in which smoking has expressly been permitted by the person responsible for that place.

Complaints
Anyone exposed to the hazards of smoking while on campus, is asked to file a complaint with the Division of Human Resources.
