Termination of Studies or Postdoctoral Training out of Academic Considerations
|
The Feinberg Graduate School reserves the right to suspend or terminate a student’s studies or Postdoctoral Fellowship out of its own academic considerations, and after an intensive internal discussion. If the Graduate School intends to suspend or terminate a student’s studies out of academic considerations, he or she will be invited to a meeting with the Chair of the Board of Studies or the School Dean. The student will be entitled to a hearing and to present his case concerning the claims against him or her. In any event, a decision to terminate studies out of academic considerations will be made only after consultation with the student’s instructors, the appropriate Chair of the Board of Studies and the Academic Secretary of the Graduate School. In a case in which the School intends to terminate a Postdoctoral Fellowship, the Fellow will be entitled to a hearing with the Chair of the Postdoctoral Fellowship Program. Students may not turn to the Commissioner with complaints concerning decisions about academic issues.
