Reimbursement of Flight and Moving Expenses

Reimbursement of Flight Expenses to Israel
Foreign postdoctoral fellows who did not reside in Israel during 5 out of the 6 months preceding their term of fellowship (as well as Israelis returning from Ph.D. studies or a postdoctoral fellowship term abroad), who come to the Weizmann Institute of Science for at least one year (excluding any unpaid leave), are entitled to reimbursement of flight expenses to Israel:
 

The refund will be for either "round-trip" airfare or "one-way" fare (the cheaper of the two) at the lowest available "economy-class" fare, on a regularly scheduled commercial flight by the shortest route between Israel and the relevant destination.
  

Postdoctoral fellows who remain at WIS for less than a year are entitled to flight reimbursement proportional to their stay (with the exception of those whose fellowship is terminated during the trial period).

Reimbursement of Flight Expenses from Israel
Foreign postdoctoral fellows who come to the Weizmann Institute of Science for at least two years are also entitled to reimbursement of flight expenses back to their home country from Israel:
 

The refund will be for either "round-trip" airfare or "one-way" fare (the cheaper of the two) at the lowest available "economy-class" fare, on a regularly scheduled commercial flight by the shortest route between Israel and the relevant destination.

Reimbursment of Moving Expenses to Israel
Foreign postdoctoral fellows (and Israelis returning from studies abroad), who remain at the Weizmann Institute of Science for at least a one-year, are entitled to reimbursement of relocation expenses to Israel:
 

Single postdoctoral fellows are entitled to the equivalent of up to US$ 200
  

Postdoctoral fellows accompanied by a spouse and/or children are entitled to the equivalent of up to US$ 400.
  

Israeli postdoctoral fellows who return from a lengthy period abroad may receive up to US$400 (single) or US$800 (with spouse and/or children). If they remain at WIS for less than two years, they will be required to pay back half of this amount.

Reimbursment of Moving Expenses from Israel
Foreign postdoctoral fellows staying on the program for at least two years are also entitled to reimbursement of relocation expenses to their country:
 

Single postdoctoral fellows are entitled to the equivalent of up to US$ 200
  

Postdoctoral fellows accompanied by a spouse and/or children are entitled to the equivalent of up to US$ 400.

Other Terms and Conditions
1.

All refunds are subject to a signed declaration by the postdoctoral fellow that he/she will not be reimbursed for this expense by any other source.

Submission of the original receipts

One may not exchange airfare or relocation expenses with any other type of expenses.

4.

Postdoctoral fellows who receive a fellowship from an external agency – directly to their bank account – are not eligible for the type of reimbursement mentioned above.
