Participation in Scientific Conferences
Each Postdoctoral Fellow is allocated an annual amount of US$1,865 per year (US$4,140 per year for Koshland Fellows) for flight expenses, room and board, and registration dues at local and international conferences

Proportional Travel Budget Allocation
The fiscal year at WIS starts on October 1st and ends on the following September 30th. Therefore, a postdoctoral fellow starting his/her training after October 1st receives partial allocation funds (proportional to the remaining time until September 30th.

Use of the Following Year's Allocation
Postdoctoral fellows may request to use whole or part of their following year's allocation. Provided they will stay as postdoctoral fellows during the following year. Otherwise, they will have to return part (or whole) of the money they had received.

Accumulation

This annual allowance is cumulative.

Expiration
The eligibility to use the travel allowance expires on the day the postdoctoral fellowship training period ends. In other words, the money is designated to be used for travel to conferences which take place during the postdoctoral fellowship training only!

Usage Limit
The travel allowance may NOT be used for the purchase of a computer or any other equipment.

Travel Form and Approval
Participation in conference abroad is dependent upon authorization by their host, the department head and the Feinberg Graduate School Dean. Travel forms must be filled and submitted online (via TAFNIT) both before and after each trip abroad.

Absence Due to Participation in Conferences
Postdoctoral fellows are entitled to participate in scientific conferences in Israel and abroad and/or visit laboratories for research needs for a total cumulative period of 50 days per year (as of the first month of the fellowship period).
